Matariki (From last term...)
We have read and listened to a number of Matariki stories as we come to the end of the term. One of them was The little Kiwi's Matariki.
Inspired by ts book, tamariki created a scene - beach, sea, sky - weaving fabrics on a loom, then embellishing with a range of materials. The number of stars they put on their artwork reflected the stories they or their whānau identified with.
Kia ora Karenna and Newton! So lovely to hear from you! First the loom was made by stringing up a piece of cardboard. Then tamariki chose fabric to thread through to look like the beach scene in the book - Little Kiwi's Matariki. The they selected some embellishments to hot glue on. You are very welcome to pop into the classroom to see them :-)
BY Karenna and Newton We like your art RM 8.How can you make them? RM 8.
