Gymnastics

In Term 3 we often have a gymnastics focus for our physical education program. Waitī Room 8 are working hard to develop their gross motor skills and strengths. The range of activities have a focus on developing upper body strength and eye-hand co-ordination.

These sessions are heaps of fun and the excitement level is very high. We are learning how to keep ourselves safe at these times too!!

Visit from the community police officer.

Constable Lewis Barclay visited Room 8 in Week 3. Tamariki may have talked about 'Big Lew' visiting! He  is the community officer and came to introduce himself and talk a little bit about his job in our community.

The biggest part of his job is to keep us all safe.

Constable Lew also talked about the different things he wore as part of his uniform.

It was lovely to meet you Constable Lew!

Kindness

This is what kindness looks like in Waitī Room 8. When someone is feeling unwell we make them a 'nest' in the classroom. They can cuddle up and let the bustle go on around them. While Hinerangi was waiting for her whānau to come and get her she was snuggled in the relative quiet at the front of the classroom. Then I noticed what some kind children had placed near her to help her feel better...
All off their own bat - all because they cared. He pai rawa atu tamariki mā! He aroha whakatō he aroha puta mai. If kindness is sown - kindness you will receive.
